ooops... Very late Christmas day pictures...sorry as Today is New Years eve

Hello I hope everyone has had happy holidays, please pardon my tardiness.

O' Christmas Tree that I did not even decorate because I bought the display at the store.

At least this year we had presents under the tree, I was just very unsure how I was going to make it happen.

Time to rip into the presents

Oh look Dylan is hiding from the camera

but he likes this shirt

oh lets not forget kitty kitty and Simba... Kitty kitty is looking proud while Dylan had to catch Simba for a pic

Merry Christmas Eve

I have to go to the store on Christmas Eve because I did not have any money until today. I need to get a few last minute Items for my Children. I also need to drop off a present.. most of them came here and we exchanged But my sister Deb does not feel well so I will head there.

I am still not feeling the Christmas cheer, But I have some things that I am so very thankful for. I have my children with me and they mean the world to me and not much matters so much beyond that.  My mom is feeling better since her illness during the summer and I am very thankful for that.

By next Christmas I will be finished with my associates degree in Human services. I am more than half way finished, that is a great feeling of accomplishment.

I am looking forward to the New Year and hope that things keep improving for my family for that is what I am striving to accomplish.

So Merry Christmas Eve to everyone, Hope Santa fill your stockings aplenty, I hope Jesus fills your heart with Joy and Love.

For those of your struggling with Christmas like myself, Remember Christmas is about Love it is about thoughtfulness, what it is not about is who can buy the bigger, fancier gift.  Your children will thrive with the love from you.

Bah Humbug

The Tree is finally up.

I wrapped most of the presents, I need more paper I ran out.

I am going through the motions and doing what is expected.

But I just don't feel it and I feel like a Bah Humbug.

Maybe it is because I am a single mom of two and I have to do it all on my own with no help. No one to share this experience with.

Maybe it is because I have lost so many loved ones near the holidays? My oldest sister has been gone 6 years on December 13.

I am just not feeling the Christmas spirit this year. But I will continue on for my children.

NOT ME Monday!!!!!

Well Its been a while but I am Joining in on NOT me Monday this week.

It was NOT me who has procrastinated so long to put a Christmas tree up, Why would I wait till December 20th to put up a artificial tree? I certainly did NOT buy a display tree that was already set up and had some decoration already on it. Of course I was NOT to lazy to put any ornaments on it yet, and I certainly will NOT leave it as is and perhaps consider it done.

I did NOT give 5 teenagers double cheeseburgers from McDonalds to help me switch my kids rooms around, and I did NOT mostly just watch and NOT really do anything myself.

I have NOT failed to wrap any of there Christmas presents yet, I certainly am NOT waiting till the last minute.

Well for more NOT me Monday head on over to MckMama's blog

Hope everyone Has Happy Holidays

Life just gets in the way sometimes..here is what is going on

Last Tuesday was my birthday I am now 32 years young.. I had to give two oral presentations at school this day as well ughhh

Over the last few weeks I have been dealing with my kids father...

I just don't understand what is up with my teenage son... Perhaps being almost 16+ being in a first kind of relationship = Chaos and attitude?  He is totally a different kid and its been very hard dealing with him and his attitude recently

I am sure I tanked my Final in Abnormal Psychology last thursday

On Friday I had to take Alexis to Boston to see the metabolism specialist. They think she may have a syndrome..its a duplication of a gene.. which could be the reason for her delays and such. She had to have a lot more blood drawn as well... Now I do not have this duplication. So it is either passed from her dad which would not be cause for the syndrome if it came from him, we will not find out that because he will not have the blood test.

It could be spontaneous to her and would be cause for the syndrome... maybe more labs will give some answers.

They also think they heard a heart murmur so Alexis is having a followup with the pediatrician  on the 29th

My semester of school is officially over on Dec 22. One more year and I will be finished with my associates Degree.

A reunion

Friday I went to Manchester Nh to meet up with and old friend, she found me on facebook and we have been talking for quite some some between facebooking, texting, and talking on the phone. It was great to see her after all these years.

The small above picture is of us back in the day
something like over 17 yrs ago
we were at a fair on a school trip
the one on the left is Angela another old school friend who I have not seen in years,
the one in the middle/back is Diana,
and of course on the right is me with the hideous belly bag

We had a great time together we laughed so hard, it was like it has not been seventeen whole years since we seen each other. It was a fantastic time. Diana and I went out to an upscale lounge/club that another of my friends plays guitar. We should have taken pictures while we we dressed up but forgot and took them the next day. there is pic of us. then of our kids.
we look worn out, it was a long night catching up.

her two on the left are Amanda and Brynn, and my two on the right Alexis and Dylan

Here is to old friends and new friends.

Diana and I have such similar stories its uncanny it is like we are long lost sisters. Here is to continued friendships

December already

Yesterday was  a freak day it was almost like in the 70's here, while my poor cousin who moved to Texas to get away from the cold was complaining about the weather being only 33 degrees.

I have gone to the Gym Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week, M and W I did water aerobics and T and Th worked in the Gym. Its good because I have been able to sleep better at night as I have wicked insomnia and I have been feeling more energized. I want to do water aerobics or swimming on M-W-F and the Gym T-Th. That is my goal anyways. A friend from college has been coming with me so that is good.

I am not going to the Gym tonight. I am going to meet up with a friend from when I was a teenager. I have not seen her in a long time but thanks to facebook we reconnected.  I will bring a camera and I will get pictures.

oh and this semester of school is almost over Yay.

Five question Friday... a day late

I thought I would join in on Mama M.'s blog carnival at www.fivecrookedhalos.blogspot.com

My Little Life

1. Do you do a real or fake Christmas tree? I am allergic to the tree's so I have to use a fake one and the one from last year looked like a Charlie Brown tree. We also have a cute 12 inch tree that if I am unable to find a decent tree this year. We will use.

2.
What is your favorite Christmas tradition with your family? I think it is the excitement the kids have to get up in the morning and see all the presents. I do not put any presents under the tree until Christmas eve. Though this year moneys tight so it probably will not look like a whole lot.

3. Do you celebrate Thanksgiving in your neck of the woods? yes And, if so...how many calories do you think you consumed yesterday? I was very good this year and even lost weight

4. Have you started decorating for Christmas, yet? no, not at all

5. What is your favorite Christmas cookie? sugar cookie, you know they are different shapes like trees and santas

Introducing a very special lady

........................My Mom...also known as Nana to 40 kids now.

She is just the best in the world and I don't know where I would be with out her.

Back in August she went to the Hospital because she was not feeling well. They admitted her.

Things were not looking very well. I was staying strong and then my dad said something really downer and then I broke, My mom is 70 and has lived a long life full of her 8 children, 20 grandchildren, and her building number of great grandchildren which is numbered 20 as of the 18th of November. Now we found out there is another on the way. Anyways I am in No way shape or form ready to lose my mom and that was a really scary time for me.

But after 2 weeks in the hospital and 4 weeks in a rehab facility she got home where she wanted to be. This is something That I am VERY Thankful for this Holiday season.

This is Mom and her 20th grandchild My babygirl showing some love. I am glad I had my camera for this touching moment.

I LOVE YOU MOM!!!!

perhaps this should be written on Mothers day but I wanted to share now!

Arghhhh....and some tidbits

Alexis is not going to be going to the developmental preschool. cognitively they feel she is getting what she needs from her daycare center ( which she has been in preschool since September, before that she was in the toddler class) I love the center they are great, but she is developmentally delayed and has PVL which is brain damage even though thank God it is mild. But anyways she will be getting the therapies PT,OT, and ST through the public schools and will have and IEP. It is only 2 hours a week that she has been approved for. I am getting some help on a possible appeal.

My niece Corina Rose is have her second baby today, she is scheduled for a C-section. So welcome to the world Ava, your big brother Austin is gonna love you. I will post a pic when I get one.

I have to go to the town hall where I used to live to pick up Alexis' birth certificate because in all her three years i have yet to get it, but I need it to register for the public school services she is going to be getting.

Well I am off to get ready for the day of interning

It is November 17 2009 and my baby is three

How can it be that you have been on this earth for three years already?

It seems like only yesterday when you were born.
this tiny little miracle weighing in at 5lbs 2 1/2 oz
17 1/2 inches long. You just could not wait to get into this world

And then before I knew it,

And you were one

It seems like I blinked and another year went by.
And then you were two

I don't know how but I must have blinked again because my baby girl is growing up.

And now you are three

Happy Birthday to my baby girl
who is growing up way to fast.

NOT me Monday

Following along with MckMama with my own not me Monday post. I also wish to thank god for Stellan and his successful ablation

I did Not forget to order Alexis' birthday cake until Saturday morning the day before her party.

Okay so on Saturday the serpentine belt did NOT fall off my car while I was Not out trying to get last minute things for Alexis' birthday party. It was Not pouring out and I did not get soaked waiting on a tow truck to get me home.

Because said car was NOT broke down I did not need a ride to get the cake the I did Not almost forget to order, and I did Not arrive to my own child's late, No way that wasn't me.

This is Not the last day my baby will be 2 she can Not be turning 3 tomorrow

Alexis birthday party was today

We celebrated Alexis' 3rd Birthday today, we had a joined birthday party with her 2nd cousin Nikolis. It was Dora and Diago themed

Alexis' cake

Nikolis' cake

And this last one is of the two birthday kiddo's together. Alexis will be 3 on November 17 and Nikolis will be 2 on November 29.

I cannot believe the price of cakes now. I paid $25.99 for Alexis cake and $5.95 for the Dora candle. The cake was a 1/4 sheet last year I got a half sheet for the same price. Whats up with that? Anyways it was a fun and chaotic time with a birthday party for two little ones. I do not think this is an experience we want to repeat.

I am going to make a slide show and post it soon when I have all the photos uploaded.

Talking about Thursday: my favorite vacation spot

I am linking up with Genny from Mycup2yours and writing about my favorite vacation spot.

So I have not been on an actual Vacation since I was still a kid living with my parents. We went to Ohio to visit my dad's dad and step mom and went to Cedar point where I took my dad on the first roller coaster that was suspended as opposed to having rails

Boy I don't think my dad expected that kind of experience, he tossed his cookies (or should I say fried dough) after that.

My grandparents lived on lake Erie it was beautiful and even as a child I recognized the beauty.

I caught fireflies

It was pouring rain but after a hot summer day it was fun to play out there in the puddles with my dad.
(I wish I had the pictures)

I was made to eat fish that my uncle Rich caught which has given me a distaste for all things seafood to this day.

I remember the boat ride in Lake Erie on Uncle Rich's boat feeling the water spray on my face.

I remember my little round smurf floatie I had for swimming in the pool because i could not get my head wet because I had tubes in my ears.

I remember how tan I got on that 2 week long vacation and coming home and people thinking I went to Florida because I was tan.

I had an extremely bad day yesterday

As I am a single mom I have to rely on a daycare voucher for me to go to school/intern. Well yesterday I woke up got ready as usual. Got myself and Alexis out the door earlier than usual because I wanted to get to school early to study for a quiz. When I got to the daycare I was told my voucher was being terminated. I was floored and frustrated. Had to leave and find out why. I called and I was told I was not doing enough to warrant the voucher. What? I am a full time college student and I intern. they were only counting the 11 hours I was physically at school and not counting my internship. They did not call and tell me this. It was a terrible morning. However I said how can this be rectified? where is your internship at they ask. I answer. Well ask them if you can do community service. I talk to my agency and my professor and they are on board with me interning/community service. I will be treated like an Intern but will be getting forms signed saying I am doing community service. Because today is a holiday it is not in effect till tomorrow, but the daycare said they would keep her anyways I do have to intern today

NOT me Monday

I most certainly did NOT pay one of my friends to help me clean my house last week why would I do that when I have a teenager that should be helping me?

I did NOT break into Alexis' birthday presents to get her dressed Friday morning because she did NOT get to tall for her clothes in the last few weeks

I did NOT eat any kit kats from Alexis' Halloween candy why would I ever do that?

And lastly I did NOT have a 10 hour phone conversation with someone the other day, How could we possibly talked for 10 hours straight?

Spring cleaning...Err... Not exaclty spring but cleaning none the less

I am sick of my messy house.

With a teenager and a toddler and a lazy roommate, cleaning up after both plus going to school full time and doing my internship I have gotten severely slack in the cleaning department. I keep doing laundry but not fold it, so I folded 10,000 clothes today no lie, while folding Alexis clothes I weeded out the size 18 mos clothes which is what most of her wardrobe consists of, they fit in the waist but they are becoming high waters and other than looking uncool its just to cold now for her to be wearing high waters. anyways I had gone shopping for her birthday and bought 10 outfits but with the high waters I have already gotten into 2 of them for her to wear.Well, I decided to buy some more outfits and give her some to wear now I bought 5 more. so I put aside 5 outfits plus two she wore already for now and there are 8 outfits for her birthday.  Now while you may think that is alot it is not, She had about 40 18 mos clothing which is being passed down to my great niece Mykenzie.

Dylan decided that he was going to chill in my room and eat Halloween candy, there were Kazillions of wrappers all over my room and floor, plus a bunch of Alexis toys that have collected in here. The toys will make there way in her room tomorrow as she is in bed now. Nice to see I have a bedroom again.

My kitchen is still clean since Monday, with exception of a few dishes.. Yay!! to up keep

My thought is if i clean it thoroughly and then perhaps I can maintain it, I hope.

And also making a choir list for Roommate, Dylan, and myself. team work, I hope

Joys of parenthood..lol

Why is it that Dylan has a hard time waking up Monday through Friday but on this saturday morning he is up at 6:30am sitting on the computer with his headphones on but singing at the top of his lungs and in the process waking up his sleeping sister?  Why?
My poor up stairs neighbor  having to also be tortured by this horrible noise he calls singing
I sneaked this video of him jamming out, Its dark so not good quality but I hope you can at least hear him

Alexis is in her room saying help me, help me, which actually just means i want to get up and come out there.

Alexis is growing like a weed in height on me, well maybe its not that fast as she will be three in ten days but all of a sudden her 18 months pants are suddenly high waters, Now I have like 7 outfits for her birthday but apparently it cannot wait till then so I went out and bought five outfits for now, I am sure she will get more for her birthday. I now need to get all these 18 mos clothes out of here and give them to my great niece Mykenzie, she is only six mos old but she is a porker so she will get use from them before we know it.

OK poor Alexis has waited long enough for me to post I need to get her up and ready for the day. Gonna make some blueberry muffins for breakfast  yum o

Lifes happenings, and Halloween

I have been kind of slacking lately on my posts, I have neglected to post not me Monday. I didn't even do a Halloween post and now it is November 3rd, time is flying my baby is going to be three years old. I just cannot fathom this. She has had 3 evaluations so far for the developmental preschool and she has one more on November 9th and then the eligibility meeting is on her birthday November 17.

Anyways better late than never this is Princess Alexis sitting her her chariot (other wise know as a stroller)

this one from left to right are my twin nieces Amber and Ashley, their friend David and Dylan is the freak with the red wig farthest to the left

Last but not least is princess Alexis surrounded by daemons
where is the prince to come to her rescue?

Anyways I hope everyone had a good Halloween, I should have taken a picture at the mounds of Halloween candy but Dylan had the day off from school today and ate most of it.

I am more than half way through this semester and I just pre registered for spring semester.I will have my associates degree in December 2010 only 7 more classes woo hoo

not me monday

So I did NOT order food tonight because I did Not feel like cooking.

I most certainly did NOT send Alexis to daycare with a blanket that was in the car because I did Not forget to wash her regular blanket.

I did Not give Alexis a sponge bath with huggies shea butter wipes this morning because she did NOT leak through her pull up and I did not keep pressing the snooze button on my alarm clock because I did NOT want to do anything this Monday morning which is why I did NOT have time to give Alexis a proper bath.

Also Dylan did NOT fail to hold Alexis hand while walking up the porch steps and she did NOT fall down the steps.

if anyone actually reads my post as it is NOT new please go an check out MckMama's not me monday.

Almost Halloween

Alexis is going to be a princess for Halloween this year. Friday October 30 there is trick or treat at the college and Alexis' will bring her and all her classmate and they will also have some goodies after lunch.

On actual Halloween and there will be trick or treating in the neighborhoods Dylan and some other teens will be taking Alexis along, I will hand out Candy with my sister Tammy.

Today I paid of the Lay a way for Alexis birthday presents and then put another one on for Christmas. Although I still need to get more but at least it is a start.

I have to write a paper for one class, do an assignment for another and study for tests over this weekend or whats left of it. Alexis had a very long and late nape so she will be up late tonight.

How much does a miracle cost?

I got this in an email and thought it was wonderful

A little girl went
to her bedroom and pulled a glass jam jar from its hiding place in the closet.

She poured the change out on the floor and counted it carefully. Three
times, even - the total had to be exactly perfect. No chance here for mistakes.

Carefully placing the coins back in the jar and twisting on the cap, she
slipped out the back door and made her way 6 blocks to Rexall's Drug Store with
the big red Indian Chief sign above the door.

She waited patiently for
the pharmacist to give her some attention, but he was too busy at this moment.
Tess twisted her feet to make a scuffing noise. Nothing. She cleared her throat
with the most disgusting sound she could muster. No good. Finally she took a
coin from her jar and banged it on the glass counter. That did it!

'And what do you want?' the pharmacist asked in an annoyed tone of voice. I'm talking to my brother from Chicago whom I haven't seen in ages,' he
said without waiting for a reply to his question.

'Well, I want to talk
to you about my brother,' Tess answered back in the same annoyed tone. 'He's
really, really sick...and I want to buy a miracle.'

'I beg your pardon?'
said the pharmacist.

'His name is Andrew and he has something bad
growing inside his head and my Daddy says only a miracle can save him now, so how
much does a miracle cost?'

'We don't sell miracles here, little girl.
I'm sorry but I can't help you,' the pharmacist said, softening a little.

'Listen, I have the money to pay for it. If it isn't enough, I will get
the rest. Just tell me how much it costs.'

The pharmacist's brother was
a well dressed man. He stooped down and asked the little girl, 'What kind of a
miracle does your brother need?'

' I don't know,' Tess replied with her
eyes welling up. I just know he's really sick and Mummy says he needs an
operation. But my Daddy can't pay for it, so I want to use my money.'

'How much do you have?' asked the man from Chicago

'One dollar
and eleven cents,' Tess answered barely audibly.

'And it's all the money
I have, but I can get some more if I need to.'

'Well, what a
coincidence,' smiled the man. 'A dollar and eleven cents---the exact price of a
miracle for little brothers. '

He took her money in one hand and with
the other hand he grasped her mitten and said, 'Take me to where you live. I want
to see your brother and meet your parents. Let's see if I have the miracle you
need.'

That well dressed man was Dr.Carlton Armstrong, a surgeon specializing in

neuro-surgery. The operation was completed free of charge and it
wasn't long until Andrew was home again and doing well.

Mum and Dad were
happily talking about the chain of events that had led them to this place.

'That surgery,' her Mum whispered, 'was a real miracle. I wonder how
much it would have cost?'

Tess smiled. She knew exactly how much a
miracle cost..one dollar and eleven cents....plus the faith of a little child.

In our lives, we never know how many miracles we will need.

A
miracle is not the suspension of natural law, but the operation of a higher law.
I know you'll keep the ball moving!

Here it goes. Throw it back to
someone who means something to you!

A ball is a circle, no beginning, no
end. It keeps us together like our Circle of Friends, but the treasure inside
for you to see is the treasure of friendship you've granted to me.

Today
I pass the friendship ball to you.

Pass it on to someone who is a friend
to you.

MY OATH TO YOU...

When you are sad......I will dry your
tears.

When you are scared.....I will comfort your fears.

When
you are worried.....I will give you hope.

When you are confused.....I
will help you cope.

And when you are lost...And can't see the light, I
shall be your beacon....Shining ever so bright.

This is my oath.....I
pledge till the end.

Why you may ask?....Because you're my friend.

thanks for reading my blog
hope this gets you through the mid week humpday

am I a scary mommy?

from Jill's blog at scary mommy

Photobucket

I am attempting at what might make me a scary mommy

When Dylan was little when we went to stores or the mall I would hide on him where I could see him but he could not see me and he would be in a little panic at not finding me, I usually did this after he would run off on me.

Dylan was afraid of dear old grandpa Frank and when he was naughty I told him I was going to drop him at grandpa Franks house... gee that was mean

Just the other day when Alexis ran in the parking lot I told her "you better not get hit buy a car, I don't want to be late to school because I need to call911 and go to the hospital

I am trying out Not me Monday from MckMama. I love to read her Blog

I did NOT give Alexis cereal in a baggie Sunday morning because I was Not to lazy to make something for breakfast.

I did Not simply throw clothes in the washer be they dirty or clean because I did Not want to try and figure out what was dirty and what was clean and wanted to get the middle room tidied.

and lastly I did NOT wait until last minute in the morning to read my assignment that I had to do today about learning goals at my internship

well that is all I have for my first whirl at not me Monday please check out MckMama

Introduction

I have another Blog called trying to find a new me which started kinda as a weight loss and personal goal blog, but I also wrote in it sporadically until recently, which has been about my 2 kids, family, and myself being a Single mother of my teenage son and my toddler daughter and also a full time college student.

So anyways I decided to start this one about my family and and other life happenings and use my other blog for things as weight loss goals and personal goals perhaps some things may intertwine but that is okay with me

My son's name is Dylan he is my teenage know it all. He is now a sophomore in highschool. I had Dylan when I was 16 so he has been pretty spoiled by his grandparents along the way, we moved out of my parents when he was seven. He is very close to Nana and Grumpy

My daughter is Alexis is my little princess, she just started preschool in September at 2 yrs 9 mos of age. She is almost 3 time is flying. She had G.E.R.D. as a baby and recently weaned from prevacid. She is also been recently diagnosed with Periventricula leukomalacia (PVL) which is the cause for her developmental delays. She did not start walking until she was 22 mos old and talking there after. Though since starting Daycare( which is also where she attends preschool now) she has blossomed. She has been recieving early intervention since she was 4 mos old but that will end when she turns 3 in less than a month so we are trying to get her into a developmental preschool so that she can continue to recieve services.
